FULL SERVICE MODEL (€ 5,000)
Our Full Service model includes:
- Full Open Access publication of your book
- Custom cover design
- Professional layout based on one of our templates
- Copy-editing of the whole manuscript (Please note that this does not include full language editing. Should your manuscript require language editing, we can coordinate this with our partner Peerwith.)
- Open online dissemination of HTML, Epub, and PDF versions of your book
- Dissemination of a free print-ready file, so that readers can download the file and produce their own individual print version
- Opportunity for readers to purchase a print copy via our website at a reduced rate (authors will receive royalties on the revenues from these sales.)
- 50 print copies for the author at no extra cost
- € 5,000 Book Publication Charge (BPC) for a book of up to 500 pages (with a fee of € 500 for each additional 100 pages)
ONLINE MODEL (€ 2,500)
We understand that for some authors, especially those in the Humanities & Social Sciences, it can be difficult to obtain the funding necessary to publish Open Access. So we have created a cost-efficient model in which certain elements, such as copy-editing, are not included. Just as with OA journals, the online version of the book can be accessed anywhere free of charge. Print copies are sold through our website. We charge a reduced Book Processing Charge (BPC) and make up the difference with print sales.
Our Online Model includes:
- Full Open Access publication of your book
- Cover design based on our template

- Open Online dissemination of HTML, Epub, and PDF versions of your book
- Opportunity for readers to purchase a print copy via our website, the proceeds of which help to offset the reduced Book Publication Charge (BPC)
- 3 print copies for the author at no extra cost
- Reduced BPC of € 2,500 for a book of up to 500 pages (with a fee of € 250 for each additional 100 pages)

Books are printed in black-and-white with up to 5% colour pages and softcover binding. Prices exclude applicable taxes, postage & packing, which will be charged at cost.
We have developed a number of ways to help you ease the financial burden of Open Access publishing. Please contact us for more information on the following topics:
- We have an extensive database of funding mandates and other financial resources. We can run a check for you and investigate what options are available.
- Shared burdens are lighter. We have developed a simple crowdfunding tool that takes the administrative hassle out of splitting the cost of publishing.
- Aldus Press is part of KU Open Funding, a tool that helps authors consolidate offers from Open Access publishers and find financing for their OA publications. Once you’ve determined that your publication is eligible for funding, we do the rest.
- Currently there are many more funding mandates available for scholarly journals than for books and monographs. Aldus Press publishes each book as a single issue of a journal, with its own ISSN. So your publication could be eligible for funding via Article Processing Charges (APCs).
