Gertruda Gilyte

Gertrūda Gilytė has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Vilnius University as well as Fine Arts degree from the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Her academic interests include soft power, cultural politics, and new media studies.
Gertrūda is working as a freelance translator and researcher since 2016. Currently, she is finishing her Master’s degree at the Berlin University of Arts.

Alissa completed her PhD at the Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics at the University of St. Andrews in 2009. She worked as the Acquisitions Editor in Religious Studies for De Gruyter and then as the Senior Editor and Head of the Publishing Department for the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute in Berlin. Since 2016, she has worked as a freelance editor and publishing consultant. She is a native English speaker, fluent in German, with more than 8 years of experience in the publishing industry. Alissa has acted as midwife to more than 300 publications, from monographs and edited volumes to white papers and special reports. She believes strongly in the importance of Open Science and democratizing the global research landscape.
